The Central Savannah River Area Regional Commission (CSRA RC) seeks a candidate to fill the role of Regional Planner.  The CSRA RC serves a 13 county, 41 municipality region - providing long and short range planning services to member communities. CSRA RC staff coordinates with member cities and counties to ensure that the organization’s services and products are tailored to meet the needs of each individual community.

The Regional Planner will provide a wide-range of professional planning services to communities throughout the CSRA region including: the development of comprehensive land use, and special area plans; the preparation of land development regulations; and, the review of development proposals with multi-jurisdictional impacts.  Under the supervision of the Planning Director, the Regional Planner is responsible for all aspects of assigned work including research, plan and report composition, meeting facilitation and project coordination.   

Minimum Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in planning or related field plus four (4) years of professional planning experience; or, a Master’s degree in planning or related field plus two (2) years of professional planning experience.  The preferred candidate will have experience using GIS and graphic programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, possess the ability to initiate and execute assignments with minimal supervision, the ability to establish effective working relationships with citizens and public officials, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills - including public speaking experience.
