Founded in 1962, the Central Savannah River Area Regional Development Center is a governmental planning and development agency that serves the 13 counties and 41 cities in east central Georgia.
We provide services in the areas of planning and land-use development, grant writing and administration, economic development, historic preservation, and geographic information systems development and implementation to member jurisdictions within our region.
Additionally, the CSRA RDC serves as the state-designated Area Agency on Aging (AAA) for this region. In this capacity, the RDC works with local providers to ensure that services for the elderly are provided and monitored throughout the year. By utilizing pass-through funds from state and federal sources, the RDC’s AAA serves as a gateway in the CSRA for programs and resources aimed at helping senior citizens improve the quality of their lives during their retirement years.
The Regional Development Center is also the parent company of the CSRA Business Lending. CSRA Business Lending makes loans to small and start-up businesses for the purposes of creating jobs and economic development opportunities within its service area. CSRA Business Lending partners with local banks and federal agencies such as the Small Business Administration to enhance a borrower’s financing ability. Borrowers must, however, comply with and meet specific criteria as outlined by federal regulations prior to having their applications forwarded to the CSRABL Loan Review Committee for approval.
The RDC’s services and abilities may be accessed by those in the private sector as well as public sector entities. Partnerships with private-sector industries and businesses can be established to assist with projects that achieve the organization’s primary mission: to provide planning, management and information services to our members in a professional, ethical, cost-effective and efficient manner; and to serve as a forum for addressing local government and its citizen’s needs.
