Aging and Disability Resource Connection
Are you an older adult caring for a developmentally disabled son, daughter, sibling, or other relative? Do you know someone facing several functional challenges and a maze of disconnected service options? Get ready for Southern-style teamwork! We're rolling out the state's new Aging and Disability Resource Connection.
Take a look at these highlights:
- Georgia's expanded ESP service database for use by aging services helpline staff features a range of new resources, making it more comprehensive and powerful than ever before.
- Consumers can call one simple number to seek help with aging-related issues, developmental disabilities, and physical disabilities for themselves or family members.
- The Area Agency on Aging is mobilizing aging and developmental disability advocates to find common ground, join forces, identify needs, and create new opportunities for individuals and families seeking support.
In response to swelling demand, the U.S. Administration on Aging and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have awarded Georgia a major grant to develop integrated aging and disability resource systems for the state's consumers. Look for simplified processes, better coordination, and more support for your priority needs. Metro Atlanta and the CSRA are pilot sites for the pacesetting new project, which will eventually be implemented statewide.
